

The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association-Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SLE) President Prince Vandy Sualley congratulates newly elected President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Ms. Kirsty Coventry.
Ms. Coventry, the current Minister of Youth, Art, Sport and Recreation in Zimbabwe, made history by becoming the first African and the first woman to be elected president of the IOC.
The NOC/CGA-SLE President in his message said:
On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Kirsty Coventry on her well-deserved election as President of the International Olympic Committee. Her leadership, experience, and passion for sports development will undoubtedly bring great value to the Olympic movement. This is a proud moment for Africa, and we look forward to working closely with her to enhance the growth of sports on the continent.
President Sualley further emphasized the importance of African voices in shaping the global sporting landscape and reiterated the commitment of NOC-SLE to collaborating with the IOC to promote the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship.
The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone joins the global sporting community in celebrating this momentous occasion and wishes President Coventry success in her new role.
