In Sierra Leone’s final action at this year’s Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France, swimmer, Olamide Sam was eliminated in the preliminaries of the 50-meter freestyle on Saturday.

The Olympics debutant posted the Heat 5th ranked time in the hectic sprint over one length of the pool, but it was not good enough to make it to the evening semifinals.

However, Sam’s 42.87 seconds was impressive as she overcame her World Championship time of 45.51 she pulled off at the World Aquatics Championship in Doha, Qatar in February.
Several high-profile swimmers have failed to even make the finals in some of their best events.
