The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association-Sierra Leone (NOC\/CGA-SLE) President Prince Vandy Sualley congratulates newly elected President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Ms. Kirsty Coventry.<\/p>\n

Ms. Coventry, the current Minister of Youth, Art, Sport and Recreation in Zimbabwe, made history by becoming the first African and the first woman to be elected president of the IOC.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Kirsty Coventry on her well-deserved election as President of the International Olympic Committee. Her leadership, experience, and passion for sports development will undoubtedly bring great value to the Olympic movement. This is a proud moment for Africa, and we look forward to working closely with her to enhance the growth of sports on the continent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>

President Sualley further emphasized the importance of African voices in shaping the global sporting landscape and reiterated the commitment of NOC-SLE to collaborating with the IOC to promote the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship.<\/p>\n
