Following the completion of his International Coach Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP), the Technical Director of the Sierra Leone Volleyball Federation, Coach Sorie Kamara has gladly presented his Diploma Certificate to the President of the National Olympic Committee\/ Commonwealth Games Association of Sierra Leone (NOC\/ CGA-SLE), Prince Sualley.<\/div>\n

In a brief remark, Federation President Ahmed Khanou said the ICECP is for experienced coaches across the world, and it is a drive by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to uplift the Olympic movement across the world.<\/div>\n

He expressed their joy in seeing Coach Sorie Kamara, their Technical Director completing the training in both sectors from the Delaware University in the United States and the one from the IOC headquarters in Luzern, Switzerland.<\/div>\n

\u201cToday he is a proud recipient of that certificate. Additionally, his performance on that certificate, Coach Sorie who was a Level One Certified Volleyball Coach has equally been promoted to a Level Two certified Volleyball Coach and is not just about it, he is now been certified as a Volleyball Instructor within the FIVB movement,\u201d he said adding that: \u201cThe FIVB has just approved the Knowledge Transfer Project and funds to that effect, it have been transferred to the Volleyball Federation and at the end of this month we will start implementing that project it is the project he presented to the ICECP.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

Khanou furthered that knowledge transfer is part of their strategy for developing the sport of volleyball, adding that they want to develop a pool of athletes, administrators, referees as well as coaches.<\/div>\n

He thanked the NOC\u2019s President for his vision to develop sport in the country, assuring him that as a national federation, whenever they benefit from these resources they will make a difference and that the Knowledge Transfer Project will be launched at the end of this month and ends in November.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Giving an overview of the one-year course, the International Coach Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) certified Coach, Sorie Kamara underscored he started the course with 56 modules online, six hours every night, before he went to the Delaware University in America where they reviewed all of the works he did online.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
He also revealed that he had a practical assessment in Los Angeles for a week where he came out with a 100% pass mark.<\/div>\n

\u201cI went back to Delaware where I was able to present my project with an excellent pass mark and further asked to implement the project and with the support of the national federation, and the athletes I was able to successfully implement the project in Pujehun, Bo and Freetown.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the newly Certified Level Two coach, upon presentation of his project reports, he was awarded an Attestation from Delaware University and a Diploma Certificate by the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach for completing the course online, practical and writing the project and professional seminars.<\/div>\n

The NOC\/ CGA-SLE\u2019s Prince Sualley said he was not surprised to see Coach Sorie sail through such a program and come out with flying colours, adding that was the first reason why he recommended him for the program.<\/div>\n

\u201cI am so gratified that you did not let us down. You did your level best to represent not only the NOC but our country in such a prestigious program at the University of Delaware in the United States. For you to go through that program and come out flying colours speaks volumes to your talent and what you can bring to our country as a whole,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

The International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program is an intensive coaches\u2019 education program consisting of lectures, projects, guest speakers, candidate presentations, group work, field trips, and project planning and implementation. The program is open to international coaches and national U.S. coaches and consists of four modules scheduled over an academic year. In addition, candidates will work with an international tutor to develop a personal project that will be implemented for the benefit of the respective sport or sport in general in that country.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
