Sierra Leone Swimmer and Sierra Dolphins captain, Joshua J. J. Wyse says he is under pressure to perform in his 50m freestyle race.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The 23-year-old will start his Paris 2024 Olympics Games campaign in Heat 3 of Men\u2019s 50m Freestyle on Thursday 1st August at the Paris La Defense Arena pool in Paris.<\/div>\n

Wyse who would be making his second appearance in an Olympic Games pool believes he is obliged to perform and the pressure to perform keeps mounting.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYes I am under pressure to perform but it does not matter that much for me because I know I must and have to give my all and do my best to achieve the utmost goal,\u201d Wyse admitted and expressed confidence ahead of the challenge.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t let the pressure get over me. I can overcome the pressure and I am looking forward to a good day in the pool and a good swim that can take me to the next stage,\u201d Wyse said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He added: \u201cI already know who my opponents are, and most of them are my colleagues from the Scholarship camp in Thailand. It is going to be a 50\/50 chance and I will do my best against my colleagues as we are all under the Olympic Scholarship.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The experienced 23-year-old swimmer during his debut at the 2020 Tokyo, Japan Olympic Games clocked 27.90 sec but he has however made progress to impressively clocked 27.09 sec at the 13th All African Games in Ghana.<\/div>\n

The Sierra Leone flagbearer will come up against Fahim Anwari of Afghanistan who clocked 27.67 sec in Japan, and Ousman Jobe of Gambia whose best time is 27. 34 in Doha, Qatar.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Also in the Heat are; Guinean Elhadj N\u2019gnan Dallo with a record of 27. 72 sec, 24 heard old Fakhriddin Madkamov from Tajikistan with his best time of 26.38 sec he secured this year in Doha, Qatar.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Souleymane Napare of Burkina Faso, Jose Tati of Cape Verde and Magnim Jordano of Togo are all placed in the same Heat.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
